Just out of curiosity, what programming languages/libraries are people planning to use for the competition?

I'm planning to use Flash (with ActionScript 3).

I'll be using C++ and my Pixie Game Engine. Just because it's what I know best, and so can work the fastest with.

Its highly likely that I will be using C++ and the SFML API.

My entry concept is starting to take shape (no code written yet, just been planning the technology).

My entry is called "Of Pixels and Gravity" :D

Since I got it (and am always trying to learn to use it better), I'll probably be using Torque Game Builder.

Oh cool, good to see that people will be using a variety of tools/langauges!

Since I decided to learn it I will be using Flash CS4 with Actionscript 3.0.

Also I just announced the contest in my blog!

Well, if I do enter, I'll be using gcc + the whole SDL entourage.

I've got to develop a 2D game engine with SDL anyways, so this gives me an excuse to work on it. :) In the course of an hour, I've already got a tile engine set up, plus I was able to bring over a sound system from another project based on SDL_mixer. Hrm, SDL really is pretty damn simple...the graphics portion reminds me of the Windows GDI. That makes adjusting to it exceptionally easy. Woohoo! :D

Hey everyone. Heard about this compo on DevMaster and will be joining into the fray. Looking forward to seeing what we all come up with. It's actually been a while since I've done game related programming (always stuck on R&D and tools), so it's going to be great getting back into the scene.

I decided not to use my C++ engine for this compo and opted to use my new Silverlight engine instead (most of which is just a direct port from C++). I'm pretty excited with the technology and it's really fun to develop with. The engine itself is fairly well oiled, but needs a couple special effects here and there to spice it up a bit, so I have my work cut out for me.

I'll also be using some tools of mine such as Thumb Creator, Image Packer, TexGen, and Audio Sampler to help out with producing some of the game assets. At least whatever I can produce by next week, along with any freebies I catch on the web (and are not illegally ripped from old games! shame shame).

Unfortunately, I am going to have to sit this one out.

I thought that I was going to be able to pull something together, even with help its just not looking like it.
So I've suspended the project I was going to do, and I'm going to just sit back and watch the other entrants.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to compete either but I'm going to try. This week looks to be killer, and next weekend I'll probably be in Camuy cleaning up the dump of a house I might have to move back to. I'll try though.

I haven't even started preparing any tech for this... looks like I might have to do it all on competition time :P I'm sure it'll be fine though, it worked out ok last time...

My new Flash/ActionScript 3 based engine is coming along slowly... I keep refactoring the code, which is making for a better foundation to work from, but is counter productive to producing an engine that I'll be able to use in the short-run.

According to RampantCoyote, I'm almost at the black triangle stage of development.

I'm excited. I know what I want the game to be, how I want it to go; I've got the engine almost complete; I've prepared art assets. This is going to be a blast. :)
