Dear Pedro,
Thanks for the positive feedback, that's always nice to hear. :-) It's
also great to hear you're planning to make some improvements to Tiled,
and that you are interested in helping to make these improvements
integrated in new versions.
Quite obviously you can make integration easier by sticking with the
code style as it is, I hope this will be no problem. Also, I'd really
like to hear in advance what kind of improvements you plan to
implement, so that I can think about general usefulness and potential
conflicts. Finally, while I would understand that you'd rather work
from releases for stability reasons, I'd also ask you to keep track of
trunk development. There is a mailing list where all commits get sent,
if you're interested.
I think you should create local branches and tags as you see fit. One
change (or feature) per patch is preferred, but it's not really a
problem when things are combined into one patch as long as all changes
are accepted of course.
Note that I am currently the only developer on Tiled, and that I have
about one day a week to work on Tiled on average. I'm steadily working
my way to a 0.7.0 release, of which the new features are listed in the
CHANGES file on the trunk, while the things I still plan to do before
the release are in TODO.
Kind regards,
Bjørn
