*Jaw Drops*

Wow! You did that all in UGL? I'm impressed.

The textures might be lo-res, and the frameskips are huge, but heck! This video is amazing!

*Darcnyss Rethinks his own mediocre raycaster*

I can't wait to see the completed design. My proverbial hat's off to you.

One question, what did you use to rip the video? We could definitely use something like that to make Demos for our larger projects.

well, the game takes a shot about every 2 seconds, the game runs at 30fps, but with the video capture, only at about 1fps-ish

its just using this

http://syn9.thingie.net/download/uglbmp.bas

a 16/32 bit bmp saver for ugl to grab the screen.

these images were then taken into Ulead gif animator and saved as an AVI. next, i used vDUB to compress the 65meg avi down to a 5.5 meg one

i havent looked into real time video capture programs for windows or dos, but i'm sure they're out there

That's very cool. Keep up the good work.

Did you actually plot the route on a map that is based on the world data? Is that one of the features of your engine?

ugl is a graphics/input/sound/younameit library for QuickBasic (dos), and it rocks! It's just a shame it's 10 years late ;)
