It's backed up automatically though, right? No big deal. Though if 'somebody' was willing to go to the trouble to integrating it with the RPGDX member system, we could use authentication to stop it happening again. _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

I was able to restore that page, but I've noticed those script kiddie spam attacks are happening all over the wiki. Maybe we should implement some kind of log in system. _________________ Mark Hall

The good news is that once you get started and accrue some useful material, your job gets easier. Grab a program like Goldwave (there are tons of them available), load up a sample, and start experimenting with things like doppler/envelope effects, echo, pitch, flange, etc. Once you have a good idea of how they work, you can begin to apply them to your sounds... eventually you'll be able to 'see' what you'll need to do to get the sound you're looking for. Slowing down complex sounds and extracting snippets is a good way to make new sounds -- I used the sound of my can opener and slowed it down to get the sound of a door opening ;)
If you don't have the raw material you need, grab your mic and start going crazy. You never know what you'll come up with when you start playing around. At first, I found it extremely frustrating, but now I enjoy it (somewhat).

The spammers seem to be fighting the spammers, maybe they are even replacing their own texts. In any case it causes an enourmeous history for some documents, and yeah, I'll need to do something about this and it'll need to include login, preferably connected to the same user database as the forums.
