I put this together tonight, and would appreciate it if you guys could take a quick look and tell me what you think. Any suggestions on timing/etc improvements would be great.

Hopefully this counts as graphics... ^_^

I think it's interesting. I take it with the revolving you mean drawing the white circle? Personally I think that could be faster. Also I'm not so sure about the "Fury" being so pixelated when zoomed.

I don't have an MPEG encoder. You can play it with pretty much any decent MPEG-4 compatible player - quicktime should be able to handle it, VLC can handle it, and if you have DivX installed so can WMP.

Well, it didn't work for me under QuickTime. You might try using a more standard codec.

If you're not going to offer it in other formats, you might consider posting a few screenshots.

To play the Devil's Advocate, here, it takes, like, no time at all to grab and install the DivX codec. I'm honestly surprised that there exist people whom do not have it, seeing as its a fairly popular codec.

Err.... since when isn't DivX fairly standard? I mean, it's supported by a large number of hardware players, and it's *supposed* to be MPEG-4. I guess if Quicktime can't play it, I'll need to find a new codec.

Quick time can play it, but it isn't standard. You need to download the codec which contains SPYWARE. Again- for ANY use of DivX (any media player except VideoLAN) you need the DivX codec from the website which contains spyware and adware.

I'd look into something else.

Of course I would much rather see an XviD encoded version, but MPlayer plays the DivX just fine and it seems to be using FFmpeg. I am on Linux but MPlayer is available for Windows as well.

The codec can also be found elsewhere. I've installed from there before, sans spyware.

This is the sort of thing that keeps me away from installing nonstandard QuickTime codecs.

DivX has spyware now? :O When did that happen? It was spyware free when I installed it.

Some googling turned up some further information. It looks like DivX does indeed engage in a bit of malware; it apparently installs Gator on your system.

However, from what I can grok from the few sites I read, the playback-only codec is not infected with malware - only the production codec, presumably to help drive demand for the malware/paid version.

So you're safe if you only watch DivX, but that begs the question - do you want to help make the proprietary property of a malware pusher more valuable by trading in media wrapped up in their codec?

Personally, I don't care for malware tactics, so I'm afraid I won't be installing DivX on my system, even if the playback-only codec is malware-free.

But I'd still like to see your video!

Wow. Gator, no less? Ouch.

Well, I made some more tweaks to the video, and tried encoding it with XviD instead. It seems to work about as well as DivX, so here goes :)
