A few of us, a couple of years ago, used to work on a development zine called GDZine; Jon and Happy were the editors of it, and various people in the community used to contribute articles: I had some trash in it, Skywise wrote something about Zombies, if I remember correctly, and there were a few other things. In any case, it might as well be a pipe-dream, seeing as Happy had it all on his swoo.net account, which seems (along with all things swoo.net) to be permanently tanked.
So, uh, it was not, specifically RPG related, but it was, if nothing else, a momentary break from reality.
While it is also not entirely RPG related, you might be interested in the demoscene zine: hugi. _________________ "...LeoDraco is a pompus git..." -- Mandrake

I really like hugi, a demoscene mag in 'demo form' is infinitely excellent. In fact, I've always thought a rpg zine in 'rpg form' would be nifty. Perhaps a character walking around to select different articles in a room or building, instead of a classic menu.
Well its good in theory, however it would be a lot of work and not something I'd want to do personally. Although submitting an article or to would be more with in the realm of possible I guess.

Hmmm, intriguing. I probably could do something like that with the engine I'm going to be building pretty soon (blasted editor needs to be finished first though).
I can already see it in my mind too. Gotta love the third eye. It brings so much more fantasy and joy into life without having to do anything.

Give that a whirl. You might get lucky. You can find some really amazing stuff on archive.org ;) _________________ Endless Saga

Yeah, the Wayback Machine is fantastic, when it actually has what you are looking for. Unfortunately, this is a case where, at least for simple searches (such as for "GDZine," with various whitespace thrown in, or for "happy.swoo.net") I did not get any hits. I actually tried that earlier today, just to see if I could link anybody to it. _________________ "...LeoDraco is a pompus git..." -- Mandrake

A lot of RPGs make a lot of people uncomfortable with a lot of pagan imagery (pentagrams, fairies, etc...) Not to mention, many are violent and have heathenistic religious themes. Maybe this new RPG magazine can offer Christian-centered game reviews? _________________ INFP

EDIT: Post removed... I don't wanna get into this; I'll let it escalate on its own. (though hopefully the folks here will be smart enough to NOT respond to that post...)

I'd be willing to contribute an article or two to a well-organized 'zine, but I just don't see that happening anywhere.
However, an alternative would be to use the RPGDX wiki (if we think the spamming issues have been sorted out...?). _________________ Visit the Sacraments web site to play the game and read articles about its development.
