I've been busy reworking the NPC models in my game recently and have finally, after months of pain trying to get head models looking something like heads, completed the first model. While I know that 3D RPGs are not to everyone's taste, I'd really appreciate feedback on the model before using it as the basis for all the other NPCs in the game - if there is something that annoys then I prefer to know about it now rather than when I've completed creating and animating all the character models!

I've just posted an in game screenshot of the model on my project page on this site or you can alternatively see it by going to the project website (see my sig below).

Thanks,

Jon.

That's a definite improvement, and the model style fits better with the graphics style of the rest of your project. I particularly like the texturing job and the helmet design.

It is definately an improvement, but it might be easier to compare the heads without the helmets.

Not a bad idea! I've quickly captured a few close up shots of the heads, old character and new, for comparison. And the old head without a helmet looks really bad!

nice. but maybe too much of an hourglass shape body for a male. Would look better if legs were less poofy and waist was a smidge wider.

I've already come to the same conculsion - I've widened the waist out a bit more and I'm currently looking at the legs again - I think the problem there is sort of similar in that the knee part of the legs is too narrow compared to the rest giving another hourglass shape.

Wow, there is a drastic difference between the old head and the new head. It is definately a significant improvement and the additional screenshots now make it much easier to compare. Thanks.

The legs seem a bit too far apart (it looks like he just got off a horse), which may be throwing off the look of the waist/hips and creating the hourglass shape.
