a) Have XML functionality insite your game to support the tiled native format.

b) Make a plugin in Java to make tiled save and load in some format you like.

c) Make a converter to convert the native tiled format to your game.

I think there is a mappy plugin for tiled so that might be an easier format to work with.

You don't have to do all three. All those are potential options. Tiled is very programmer friendly IMHO.

Well, Mr_T is working with Mappy so he knows how to load thoose maps, so the mappy plugin sounds good.

Yes i wasn't very clear on that was i? You can also hit up the Tiled mailing list if you are lookig for more help. Bjorn usually responds quickly to posts in it.

So do I! See how quickly I respond? :P Tiled has a long way to go to user-friendliness, I agree. Unfortunately it is going nowhere fast. Bjorn is basically on his own with it now, and of course he has other things to focus on. But, the plugin functionality is quite useful, and very easy to implement (better for export than import, since Tiled doesn't necessarily support the features of other editors).
