Still cutscenes can be cool too, though. I don't mean like a whole bunch of complicated art with extremely detailed pictures, I mean like just taking one picture as the foreground and one as the background, then moving the pictures around so that it looks like the camera's position is changing while text displays at the bottom.

I wouldn't mind just regular cutscenes involving just dialog text and sprites moving around. It is probably better that way. Fully animated would b cool, but would consume too much time for a short piece of animation. But if you got the time, go for it!

Maybe something like Ninja Gaiden, where there were only a bare few portraits and backgrounds, but the motion and placement did most of the work.
