I've spent all day working on a hero character for my game, but I can't get him right at all. This is what I have at the moment:
The one on top is the template, while the guy on the bottom is the hero. I wanted to do something a little different from the whole spiky thing, plus I wanted to do something gothy, so I gave him slick black hair.
While I don't want to spend a lot of time tinkering with the sprites, I do want to at least improve it from this. However, I've been messing with it for so long that I'm not sure where to go with it now. Any ideas?

I've sorta decided not to worry about it for the contest anyhow, and hire someone after it's finished to do a proper job on it. I did make a few additions, which I'll post tomorrow once they're finalised.
He's got eyebrows now, which makes a difference you wouldn't believe.
