I'm getting 68-73, depending on where the character is standing. I'm running on a AMD Thunderbird 1.0ghz, Radeon 7500 XL, Win98 SE.

Looks promising. Now... to blend the sprites with the shadows :) That would make for some incredible atmosphere!

I got the same error, probably something with Win XP?
I tried running it in compatibility mode... Didn't work.
Then I tried to increase it's memory acces (exe properties -> memory tab), I just set everything to max... And it worked!

I got an fps of 69-73 on an AMD Athlon XP 2000+ with an GeForce2 MX 400 32 MB and Win XP.

Looks nice. The character could really use a shadow, though. :)
And collision detection would be great, but I'm sure you're allready working on it.

Ah, memory allocation. Didn't think of that. Thanks ;) I'll try it.

Edit: Works pretty good, runs smooth, though the framerate dropped to 30fps at one point, not sure why. The control seemed a little laggy, but that's probably just me. Keep up the great work.

I ran in the range of 65 to 75 FPS on my Athlon 700. Are you planning on adding diagonal motion for the final product?

I have a Win98 configured Pentium 166mmx using a standard VGA card... you have a bug body, take a look.

Ok, does anyone know how to turn EMS on? My good computer doesn't have it, and my crappy one does. The program ran at 70fps on the crappy computer and I got the same error others did on the good one

Be sure that your config.sys (if under Win9x or Dos) that it's not written

device=EMM386 noems

but

device=EMM386

You shouldn't have problems...
