Alpha of the pilot begins in like 17 days.
Woah.

Break-dancing cultists, apparently. The two on the left are quite the talented dancing duo. =)

New and improved UI. Well, mostly. Still needs some tweaks and bug-fixes, but we're close:
Alpha begins... uh... any day now. I've got a list of items I'm clearing off so I don't get a dozen people all sending me the same bugs, but... we're close. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

Just out of curiosity, what happens to the game's user interface on a widescreen monitor?

It, unfortunately, stretches. Or you can run it in a window. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

What are the system requirements for this game going to be? It's looking really good, and now I have a computer that I think may be able to run it.

I'm really not 100% sure of its system requirements - I haven't tested it on anything below a 2 ghz, 3-year-old laptop. Maybe the alpha testers can help me out on this. :)
The pilot episode (available in April) will be PC-only. The full release (umm... sometime after that) will also have a Mac version. I'm not promising Linux yet. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

My "new" and best computer is a Pentium 4M 1.6 Ghz laptop with 512 MB of ram and a 32 MB nVidia GeForce4 Go. (I use older hardware...)
If you'd like, though, whenever you need testers, I could see Frayed Knights runs on the above hardware.

That might be pushing it, at least with the first alpha. I intend to change the lighting system somewhat so I can actually disable dynamic lighting and shadows on certain objects (mainly, enemies) because of the framerate hit even on better machines. Until I get that fix into the engine, I expect it might bring your machine to its knees. Let's see if I can fix that in the next 2 weeks and get you a build... _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

Ooh, that's too bad. My PC is also similar spec to BDZ. My Mac is better though.

I *DO* intend to do a Mac release with the full version - but that's many moons away. The pilot version is going to be PC-only. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

There's a humongous interview with me about Frayed Knights now up at RPGWatch.com:
Frayed Knights Interview at RPGWatch
I liked their intro: "We catch up with Jay to talk about his indie CRPG in development and why he took just about every risky choice with the design that you could imagine." _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

You worked on Twisted Metal? You have no idea how much me and my brother loved that game. #2 was fun as well. Then other companies got a hold of it and it blew. :(
