Creating a game titled, 'Eternal Darkness'. Using Elysium Diamond (v3.0). I have 12 fully coded classes so far, currently working on hybrid classes and upgrade class. The game theme is medi-eval. It will basically make use of several customizable classes and over 1,000 monster types, along with 2,000+ maps and 1,500+ items, and 560+ spells, skills, abilities. Also plan on working race(s) into the character creation and also different sprite options. (Hair, Clothing, Color, etc....) If anyone is interested in possibly helping, email me at spiraleddesire@yahoo.com. I will require them to have basic knowledge of vb6.......Will report more later....

I was wondering a bit about the big number of items, maps and spells. But I figured he is using a engine of sorts that comes with the stuff. So if he's skilled, he might get somewhere?

Sort of, yeah. Sounds like someone hasn't done content creation before, has big plans, and will get stuck somewhere around 2% completion and throw in the towel. _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. Elysium Diamond has been discontinued, but is still going strong in communities. It is so easy to use, even a n00b can make a simple MMO in one night. The amount of content Jock describes would indicate that he's reusing premade content and not making it himself, so as long as he puts in the time, what he describes is entirely possible.
However, I would not expect the final product to be any more than a generic MMO made with Elysium.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any kind of playable anything. :P I'd wager this Jocktal n00b is some kid with epic grand ambitions and no real knowledge of how it all works.
..god knows (and several people here) that I was once a n00b with epic grand ambitions and impossibly large projects that never went anywhere. :D I've long since learned my way around game programming and I know my limits, and what IS possible and realistic to finish in any reasonable amount of time. I will say that since I've been bashing this guy that I know nothing about that I do somewhat feel like an ass, so yeah it might be possible to pull it off, but not for a few years unless he's got a rather competent team behind him that is producing content like water flows, or he is using ripped graphics and going to make some sub-par mmorpg that is just another ripoff game. _________________ Principal Software Architect
