Still pushing to get my engine ready. If I do get everything implemented enough to make a game it'll be cutting it close. :P _________________ Mao Mao Games

I've figured out my story, so that's the hard part done right? XD
Seriously though, my freelance job (of doom) has finished, so I'm able to start doing some preparation for this! Going to start on art assets today. Once I have something I'll start a thread, would be good to keep a diary of this! :)
I just hope it isn't a massive disaster. XD

Already having doubts about this, so I'm lowering my expectations a bit. I've broken it up into a few goals, and I fulfill any of those I'll be happy. Going to take it easy this weekend and get started on Monday, despite not really having any sort of engine ready. :)
I just need to keep my game design incredibly modest.

This is a most difficult thing to do - I always seem to fail on that bit, and then I don't have time to finish my game :P _________________ www.mattiasgustavsson.com - My blog

Oh, absolutely. In fact, I committed the guilty sin of using 'just' dismissively, as people are want to do far too often within games development. Every feature request is a 'just add multiplayer', etc.
Okay, so what I actually mean is that I have the incredibly difficult task of keeping the game design modest.
I think the real trick is to distinguish what you need to make a functional game, and separate that from what you want, or what you think is needed to make a good game. Anything after the functional is optional, and should be lower priority.

I think that's absolutely right - but sometimes, it can be difficult to get excited about doing only the need things and none of the want thing :P _________________ www.mattiasgustavsson.com - My blog

Nice to see another competition organized! Unfortunately I won't have time to participate since I'm traveling next week, but I'm looking forward to the entries. :-)

Hey guys,
I guess I'm going to try this thing again. My attempt from last year didn't go very far as I gave up while creating my engine. But this time there is a whole week, I'm not working so I have a lot of time available and I'm using Unity!
My goal for this week is also to get ready for the next LD48: remove the dust from my Unity and learn more things about how to use it, switch to Modo for my modeling and create animated characters (which will still require either C4D or Blender for the actual animation, I need to figure out my asset creation pipeline)!
Anyway, good luck and have fun!

Ooooh, I registered just now for this too, this is perfect I've been looking for themes and excuses to make small games, I've never made an RPG, so it'll be interesting to see how this works out...

I only need 48 hours to make a game anyway, so the fact that I'm being so slow so far isn't a problem!! o_o
