A book about Allegro? I found Allegro comes with pretty decent documentation already. You can just look at some examples and take a look at the functions they use there in the function reference. When you understand those, you should be ready to start programming your game with the function reference right at hand.
Of course, some parts of Allegro are a bit more complicated and could use some more info. The GUI stuff comes to mind. And when you're just starting, Vivace would be a nice read. Check out http://allegro.cc/ and especially the Help & Documents section of the Resource Directory.
