quick link to the final game. http://www.mediafire.com/?x7wl93pp7nwpeyg (windows version)

---------------------------------
Central fire

So I'll be doing a short but hopefully sweet action RPG. The setting will revolve around steampunk and alchemy. One of the goals I have for this project is to finish with a game that feels somewhat complete and can stand on it's own. I'll also be getting some concepting help from a buddy(LinusRe). My stats:

Party: Equil, LinusRe
Quest: Central Fire
Weapon: Unity3d

Currently I have the character movement (and pause menu!) done. Our next goal is to get the player character done as soon as possible and completely map user input to character states. also to post more pictures.

Every quest has it's sacrifices.
I was hoping to be further by now, but our party has been struck by tragedy early on, and we have lost one member. It pains me to say that LinusRe has lost all his HP while valiantly fighting against time. He is no longer with us.

But I'm not giving up. Your sacrifice was not in vain! I will do this. And when it is done, we shall party hard in the halls of Valhalla.

Party: Equil

alright, so here's the player character so far. you'll notice that I've painted over the areas that aren't done yet. It's pretty tough to make design choices as I go, but I think this is the best way to keep things rolling. He's not actually modeled like this, i just hate the T-pose so much that i posed him by moving individual vertices.

Still need to do the hair and give him baggier pants. Next update will either be a movement demo or the complete character

progress of some sort.

From here on out I'll work on the movement code in tandem with texturing. For the next update I'll try to bring a web demo.

I was sort of giving up on the project since i lost interest on my own. But then I saw the extention and decided on making a better game. Here's where I am right now:

It's called RETROACTIVE QUEST and you play a knight with historically inaccurate viking horns. The idea is that you can kill or revive any npc and depending on which ones are alive the future will change. I also have some ideas about using chests to transfer equipment across time but in general I think it will be to short to really need that.

Sounds like a cool idea. ^^ The art style is very interesting as well. ^^

@equil this looks awesome. I love the idea of killing/reviving NPCs, too, what an underutilized mechanic! =)

I already uploaded it to mediafire, but thanks for the offer!

This is far from finished, and pretty confusing. To "finish" the game here's what you'll have to do:
Get the knight to level 4 and then talk to the stone.

I am especially proud of the collision detection and dialogue. And the rampant murder. A lot of stuff is still in the test stage but i really just want to be done with this at this stage. : )

the intro song is some beatmania tune and is called magical voice shower.
