The civility quotient is near zero here. Has been for years. No wonder so few people join.

This forum's real problem is that the site isn't updated enough, there's no promotion, and it's just another backwater site that's more of a legacy than anything. There are other sites dedicated to RPG design and discussion that are far more active than this. Regardless, I won't abandon this place anytime soon, and I hope no one else does either. Not sure what you mean by "civility quotient" though... if you're suggesting that people here aren't civil, then errr... are you sure you've got the right place? People here are very civil and well-behaved... it's the spammers we gotta watch out for.

Maybe it needs a rebranding. "Center of indie-RPG gaming" 'tis not. Oh well. But it seems like it always was just a forum. It's a community more than anything else. Some ten or twelve people. One thing I think this site does have is talent: about everyone here is highly motivated. Still everyone here it seems - myself included -- is missing a sense of what makes people tick. You can't write a good story without it. It's something the RPGMaker users have on us in spades (the professionals, I mean).

In this forum there are quite skilled people and the answers are usually quite helpful. Also many discussion are friendly and productive, I don't think "civility" (at least what I understand from the meaning of this word) is a problem.

I'd rather think it's the marketing - this place is nowadays not known very well anymore, and other forums have grown big in the game development scene.

Actually I don't even think this is the real problem. Almost all forums which I vist have seen some decline in the last years, I think both developers and players have moved on to other community types, I suspect facebook and such. But I'm not very sure about this, it's just an idea of mine whyt could have caused the decline of forum activity.
