bahaha! :)
OK anyways...a suggestion for people. I was looking for an mp3 encoder, since in Windows 2000 Advanced Server I have no such programs. I came across the old BladeEnc website, and saw that he's pretty much closed up shop now, and links to Ogg Vorbis. Well, Bass.dll has supported Ogg Vorbis for awhile now but I never really took this format seriously...until today. I tried the Ogg Vorbis drag-and-drop compressor then listened to the resulting files and was amazed at how great they sound. We're talking far superior to mp3 quality here, and at a smaller filesize. Also, there is little increase in CPU time, maybe 3% max. That sure kicks the snot out of vqf's 10% minimum increase in CPU time. Sure vqf can be smaller still, but the CPU crunching makes vqf virtually unusable for dev purposes. Not to mention the compression time. So I've opted for all my streams from now on to be Ogg Vorbis format. This of course works out perfectly with the Linux versions of all the games Kronos7 is going to be putting out for Serpent and Leviathan. So my verdict: Ogg Vorbis is prime for indie developers! :) Smaller filesize, very little increase in CPU time, and superior quality music streaming. You can't ask for much more than that, it seems that this is a greatly balanced streaming format. Plus...I think that mo3 now supported ogg-compressed samples, which of course makes this all the more attractive.
Well anyways...the suggestion is predictable at this point: use Ogg Vorbis for any of your musics that you would otherwise use mp3 or redbook audio for! :) Sure it may not be as supported as mp3, but in your own products, who cares what's the most supported or the most popular? That being said...I am glad that all versions out there of DS4QB I do believe have Ogg Vorbis support (I know mine did) so even for you QB developers, you can't go wrong. Give Ogg Vorbis a try if you haven't already...you will not be disappointed! :)

The only problem is I haven't seen any ogg-players in the shops, those would be great.
I like the food at Mc Donald's, espacialy the Mc Nuggets with sweet/sour saus. Hhmmmmm...

yes, I agree that Ogg Vorbis is far superior to MP3. I also agree on the sucking of goat nuggets by McDonald's food, which is why I am glad that as of today I have officially QUIT MY JOB THERE! *dances insanely* woooooooooooo! yah! _________________ Mark Hall
