I got a new laptop for my birthday with Windows 2000 Professional
installed on it, I installed msvc, and boy was that a new experience!
when you install msvc 6 on w2kpro, you get new installation options, dialogs, etc.. it was cool.. anyway...
I installed qbx, and it told me that it wouldn't work with NT (w2kpro is based on NT)
well.. I told it to ignore the problem, and let me run the program..
it ran fine, I tested every single command that I could possibly test (nearly everything)
and it all worked fine.
I'm VERY happy to know this, cause at first I thought I would have to
give up coding in my favorite language, QB.
Well, I tried installing Anim8or (my favorite most used 3d modeling program)
and damnit! It DONT WORK!
I guess I'll have to talk with Steve (creator of Anim8or) about making an NT version of it.
in the mean time, anyone know any free 3d modelers that run in NT?
I'll be taking the courses at gameinstitute.com pretty soon! :)
Wish me luck, I'll return here once I've got something to show.
later all. _________________ Principal Software Architect

Blender... not only is it free, it's also open source. Pretty sure there's an NT version of it as well. _________________ "Goth is a way for ugly people to be interesting."

Yeah, but I think Blender has one of the most crappiest UI's. If you don't have the money, or don't want to be doing 'illegal' stuff, I'd go for GMax.

Wings3D is a good and free modelling package (although currently it doesn't do animation which might be a downer...)
