Did the Wiki die? There was a flurry of activity after it started, but now... nothing. _________________ I've decided not to make a signature.

It's been quiet for 3 days, but it's not dead as far as I know. Maybe it's complete? ;-) _________________ If we could navigate in the physical world by hyperlinks, we wouldn't bother with walking, driving, flying... so why should we do it in a virtual world? - KDE User Interface Guidelines

If I recall, almost all of the recent changes have been minor cosmetic things, such as adding the trail code at the bottom of a page or turning a word into a link. It's been quiet for more than just 3 days. (I made some changes to Jiall on Oct 12, so I'm not counting those.)
I didn't mean to say it's permanently dead... more like asleep. Since there were (if I recall correctly) several updates per day, and now there have been (excluding my recent entries) about two significant changes in the past 10 days; I almost feel cheated when I look at the AllRecentChanges page every day. _________________ I've decided not to make a signature.

well someone attached their name to the interactive story thus killing its life, since now no one can change it.

Yeah, you're right UscGradEray. I don't know what's causing these symptoms or how to do something about it though. I should probably just start editing pages. :-)
I've made an attempt to revive the story. I hope Barok won't get mad about merging his part into the story without his name on that particular part. _________________ If we could navigate in the physical world by hyperlinks, we wouldn't bother with walking, driving, flying... so why should we do it in a virtual world? - KDE User Interface Guidelines

My guess (and it's not much more than a guess) is that it's a self-reinforcing system. When there are a lot of updates, people will check something like a Wiki (or a forum or webcomic, for that matter) often. The changes will prompt others to make further changes, which encourages more traffic and still more changes.
When updates slow down, however, people aren't inclined to check the site. When they don't check, they can't make changes, so even fewer updates occur, which suppresses traffic and causes even fewer changes.
I don't know whether this is right, but it makes sense. Consider that after I asked a question, put some attention back on the Wiki, and made a couple of changes; a small series of (sometimes unrelated) changes has already occured. Maybe the Wiki just needed to catch a second wind; maybe we need something to focus attention on the Wiki (advertising/links? Some sort of change notification?) _________________ I've decided not to make a signature.
