Hello! im new around here, nice to meet u. i've been making an online rpg for a while now and uploaded some screenshots the other day. the name of the game is swordance.i had to change the name because i found out an rpg with similar name it will be a classic style rpg 2D with a lot of unique features. for now there isn't much content in the site and the first beta is not released. also had to remove a game document because someone tried to hijack the project and site ...
lately im having some doubts, maybe the game looks too classic.you now kids these days are too much into 3D :S.
people had been skeptical about me doing a game basically alone, but so far im hangin in there.
http://www.swordance.tk <site of the game(the tk guys put some popups :S)
you can go here for now also
http://chocobuckle.brinkster.net/Mu_ds/swordance/
so im gonna post a screenshot and url of the site to see if i get some feedback.
here it is:

Most people are skeptical because 99% of the time these projects never get completed.
Since you've made some progress, congrats! It does look like the game is slowly coming along. Don't worry about it not being 3D. As long as the game is fun, it doesn't really matter. Keep us posted.

What the hell?
Stay out of here. Really. Just because I post somewhere doesn't mean you have to freaking follow me everywhere and get on everyone's nerves.

Seriously, ignore it. You're only giving them the desired reaction, and plus it looks like you're talking to yourself once the posts are deleted. :p

Ahh, I get it. That's why its so confusing. Maybe there should be a deleted message in place of the deleted mesages or even just delete the non-revelvant replies that go with it.

There is also the usual problem that a lot of people announce that they are planning to develop their own MMORPG that will be as good, if not better than the market leader, while learning how to program at the same time. It's clear that there is more here than a few nice ideas so stick with it!

Well I admit that I'm seriously into 3D, but it is much more fun playing a game that works and is finished than one that looks good but doesn't do much (sounds a bit like my 3D RPG efforts, although I am gradually getting it to a point where it is possible to do more than walk around and read books).

err, hi.
the client has come a long way since the last time i posted. better graphics, more characters to choose from, improved frame rates, optimized code, automatic updates and more stuff that i cant remember.
also there is a basic master server now. in a few days i will upload this basic walkaround demo and update the site with proper information.a lot has been done but still it seems a long way to go, still i havent done any scripting or the game itself at all, too busy with the network part.i wont back down tho but man its hard to make multiplayer games.
lol, btw the name of the game is Swordance(maybe i shoulda said that :s)

How do you actually start playing the game? I visited the site but couldn't find a way to play... _________________ "Sometimes it is better to light a flamethrower than to curse the darkness."

the game is not uploaded yet, and the site is not updated. also note that for now you can only walk around and talk to people.
but in 2-3 days, the first version of the game will be available for download.

mu_ds, if you need a proofreader when your game goes live, let me know...it's not meant as an insult, but I noticed quite a few glaring typos in your screenshots and I'd like to help ya polish it up a bit, it'll help it look more professional. _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. Nice work mu.
I know the ups and downs of working alone on large projects.
Especially these days...
*lets out a big sigh*
