PostPosted: Mon May 26, 2008 9:55 pm    Post subject: The ARC Legacy rises again? [quote]

I think I'm breathing life back into the ARC Legacy now. Got the engine code working again, under the latest version of Allegro, and I'm making some changes to the engine that I was too lazy to do way back when.

I've got some interesting ideas on how to progress the storyline and I think I have the drive to actually finish this thing now!

Oh my.

Looking forward to this!

Incidently, what's the new version of Allegro like? I hear it's pretty unstable and I couldn't get it to compile, so I haven't tried it yet...

Oh, I didn't get the NEW new version, just 4.3.10

I think the other version they got going has totally different commands and stuff, and I'm not ready to overhaul the whole engine.

Oh, ok :) Yeah, that's about where I am with it - I don't really see the advantages in upgrading yet when the only really new features are the long overdue resizable window and an OpenGL rendering mode (which you can do with OpenLayer or AllegroGL at the moment) .

Anyway, sorry for the derailment. Keep us posted! :)

Stupid PHP made me lazy.

Awesome news! (If that last post didn't mean you've been discouraged already, hehe)

Like I said in Vancouver, let me know if you need any help with tilework. :)

Discouraged? Ha! I do not falter at the merest hint of adversity! Onward!

Yeah, I might need some help with the tile work, if you're up for it. I'll message you once I'm back into the map making part.

Yup, still free. Just give me a call a day or two in advance.

I had an interesting thought today. There is a very real chance that I will get this finished before Duke Nukem Forever comes out :)
