The ability to disable Pk'ing, or at least automatic retribution for the act.

-an ability to interact with other online people.

-ability to put yourself somewhere when you're not online, so people can talk to you even when you're not there.

ability to write up your own text for when people talk to you and you're not there, you automatically say something.

-ability to swap items

-ability to team up against bosses

*i'm just assuming that, since it's an online rpg, it'll be sort of like final fantasy online.

- Good gawd, don't go the way of FF online. I hear they're going to try and use a traditional FF engine in there. No way in hell I wanna do an online battle that way. Make it more free like Phantasy Star Online.

Listen, I'm the biggest Phantasy Star fan you'll ever see. I got the first one right when it came out and was hooked ever since. But PSO just plain sucks. Sorry to say it. In fact, the only thing it has to do with PS is the item names and the mesetas. But my main gripe is the fighting aspect. It's fun for a couple of days, until you see just how bland it is. There's nothing to it. And the entire game is monotonous as hell.

I seriously can't believe all the people I talk to love the game. But in almost every case they have never played a 'real' online game before. I can understand loving the online aspect of games, and I think that's what most people are really in love with.

- I rarely play online, in fact, when I had the DreamCast version, I spent most of my time offline (I'd say about 300 of my 500 hours were offline play). In the current GameCube version, even though I have Broadband and we have a Broadband adapter on the GC, I have only played 30 minutes online in all 130 hours. My primary draw is that I was able to customize the appearance of my HUnewearl such that she appears to look like Rei (except with shorter hair). The primary fun is just running around killing stuff.

- So, that's how you grab my attention. Customize my character's height, appearance, clothing, etc... and hack and slash stuff with a simple battle system such as PSO's. FF engines work for FF games, but NOT an Online game. EverQuest has most of these features, but I don't want some text window saying what happened, I want it simple. Heck, I'd take Kingdom Heart's Fight engine over FF in an Online game.

tenshi, i'm not talking about the ff engine. a new game is coming out for ps2 (is it already out? it's been a while since i last checked...) i mean that that's some of the features that are coming out for ff online.

imagine a kingdom hearts battle system online if you battle friends? every time someone would enter a command in their menu, the game would stop until they're done. it'd be very frustrating!!

I love the idea, but I don't think I'd be playing it a lot because of my freaking connection.
I think the story could be shocking for certain people, for example: Wolf 3D is forbidden in whole Germany. Every order is automatically revused.
I see you have 0% graphics? :) *poses* Although I don't know if I have time, it is a project I'd like to help with.

There's something wrong with that web page. It keeps doing something (presumably loading), but I can't see any content except for this:

there's nothing wrong. that's how it's supposed to be. to see other things, move your mouse to the object in the bottom left corner. play the mouse over those objects. you'll know what to do.
