Alright, all of RPGDX should have been moved succesfully now. Be sure to tell me if you come upon any problem.
For the people hosted on RPGDX
Most of the files have already been moved and might even work, though they might be a bit out of date. I currently have the email and requested passwords for the following people: Locrian, Darkdread, Xmark, Zoggles, Mandrake, Moonlight.
WhiteDoor also has a page on RPGDX, not sure if it's still in use. I'll send him an email. Anyone else currently hosted that is not on this list, contact me.
Hosting policy
We don't host free and unlimited, here are the restrictions:
- Not free means you have to put some effort in your site, and think regularly about Aral, who's being so nice to our community to provide the hosting. :-)
- Make sure that at least part of the website is about either your RPG programming project or something else RPG programming related.
- Try to keep the website+downloads size below 5 MB (not sure if I can enforce this limit).
Yeah, that's it. I'll make it more strict when problems occur.
Barok, I know you wanted a website on RPGDX, just send me the password you'd like to use.

I don't think I'm eligible for a site. I just had a site here cause I was going to use the Gia engine to make a game. Mandrake dropped that though so it just kinda turned into a pixel art gallery. Or was supposed to. But I'm so busy with college I don't pixel much anymore. Give the space to someone whos got a game or something.
By the way, anyone got Tenshi's email or AIM name? I'm supposed to do some art for him.

btw bjorn, the forums are still going to indie-rpg.net :)
anyway, this is a new era of sorts, i think. Hopefully a lot less bumpy than when i was running things. Also- Locrian I offered to code you an engine, I still will. I really beleive that the Sheolwulf game should be done, and I'm willing to code for it, creat an engine, and etc, propeitery like for it.

Yeah, I know the forums are still on indie-rpg.net, it also says so in the news post that the forum will move in the near future. :-)
I hope this 'era' is less bumpy, but I think most of the bumpyness was actually caused by the delays in the move. I'm glad this move is finally being made.
Locrian, you don't have to worry about your place taking up valuable space that someone else could use. I see you have a decent site up now with some images, it is no problem to install that on the new server too. The new RPGDX server can host near 50 subdomains.

Alright. So I guess Sheolwulf may yet be made. :) Would it be easier if it were a regular snes RPG view instead of iso Mandrake? Since you're already making a snesish engine for Changeling. I'm fine with it either way, I just wanna bring a world to life. regular snes view would probably be easier to do art for.

actually, i've got two engines with the same basic fundementals built in that I'm working. One for the changeling, which uses the graphical style of Legend of Mana/Saga Frontier 2 (hand painted backdrops consisting of one screen in size), and I'm doing one for Her Torn Heart, which will be isometric...but also one screen in size.
The reason why i dropped gia was because it was turning out to be too much of a burden to support everything and anything. it became bloated.

If mandrake ends up too busy, I'd love to help you out, too.

I like the new server so far, and I 'celebrated' by giving my site a redesign... check it out, and lemme know if it's better than before.
I did have to move most of my downloads offsite though, to stay under the 5MB limit (the site was like, 15MB before that, heh)... but that's okay, I'm hosting the downloads elsewhere, so it's all good. Right now, I think the whole site is around 2MB, so that's trimming a lot of fat, heh.
So yeah... here's to the new rpgdx.net... yeay! _________________ "Goth is a way for ugly people to be interesting."

Your site looks great DarkDread, as do the screenshots of that upcoming game, Project SAE!
Here's to DarkDread for contributing a little bit of festivity to our move! :-)
Forum downtime
The good news is that the forum and the database have now been moved as well. The bad news is that it took more than 10 hours. Sorry for that.

heh... thanks guys... I think I got influenced by looking at too many doom metal band sites. Now, every time I look at the site, I get a sudden urge to pop in Anathema's Pentecost III CD. Trust me, if you saw the cover, you would see the resemblance, just in the style... but it's all good... I'm glad you guys like the re-design. _________________ "Goth is a way for ugly people to be interesting."

Awesome new site design Darkdread! You really should be proud of yourself. It's not often that you will find a site that looks that cool ;) _________________ Adosorken: I always liked slutty 10th graders...
