For some time, we have had these two rpg-dev sites (this and rpg-dev.net). There are plenty of users for two sites, so that's just cool, and the different designs and events makes it more fun to be developping rpgs.

However, both sites now have irc channels. An irc channel requires a good amount of frequent visitors to be interesting. i don't think there are enough users for two irc channels - why don't you work together on maintaining one channel where we can all meet?

I wouldn't have a problem with that. What about #rpg-dex? And any IRC server you'd prefer?

i dont think the irc server matters, so if you set it up we can announce the merge on both sites and maybe get some lurkers..

i think fling runs the irc server that rpg-dev uses, maybe chat it up with him and see whats best.

Either way I think it'd be a good idea... I'm not sure how many visitors #rpgdx as I'm too lazy to ever click a few things and get mIRC to connect to irc.esper.net but I know that #rpg-dev gets a small group going sometimes during the week. Combine the two together and we would have a nice group I hope.

I don't really care what server we use either if this idea does "take off." Just so long as it's good. ;)

If anyone else actually cares enough to suggest any channel names then that'd be nice (sorry Bjørn... personally I don't like "#rpg-dex" and I'd kind of like to hear some other suggestions first :P).

Sorry, I don't really like any of those white_door suggested. What about #indie-rpg-dev? It'd be a nice merge of indie-rpg and rpg-dev.

PS: just had a sudden idea, should we also invite some of the other similar themed websites to join us? It could really bring together the whole indie-rpg community.

Ok, people in favour of plain #indie-rpg, and it has my vote too. So here it is: irc://irc.esper.net/indie-rpg. :-)

Fling-master, if you want to op it as well, register your nick and I'll add you to the AOP list. Adam_ is auto-opped as well, as he has long been our number one visitor and admin of #rpgdx. Thanks Adam! :-)

Now all it needs is announcement on our websites, after we agree to do this.
