Anyone know how to manually change file associations in IE? I know how to do it in windows but for some reason IE decides to go and do its own thing. Like when I click on an MP3 file in windows it loads up Winamp but in IE it goes into one of those shitty Quicktime player page things. _________________ Mark Hall

Err... Me?
Is there anything really WRONG with IE?
I don't have any problems with it.
Don't really need anything more, either.

Besides the fact that it isn't standards compliant? I could list a list of other problems, but that would be the main one... _________________ "...LeoDraco is a pompus git..." -- Mandrake

Use Mozilla or Firefox for an hour, and you'll *never* go back to IE. Never.

Hmm... cool! I've just been converted! I see the light! Allelulia! :)
EDIT: Wow, Firefox even automatically blocks pop-ups for me. Sweetness! _________________ Mark Hall

In case you still actually care about having your question answered, IE uses the file associations defined in your registry. You should be able to change those in Folder Options, in the control panel.
(Firefox is nice, though)

Well, the thing is that IE also does some super-top-sekrit stuff to override the settings in your registry for certain file types and I haven't been able to figure out where it does it, heh. _________________ Mark Hall

If you want to fix that, you have to disable the plugin, I believe.

To be precise, a shocking percentage of 70% of forum visitors still uses IE, and 75% for main page visitors. But that's still way better than the 95% is was for the main page in August 2003! Our forum regulars were already at 75% at that time.
I'm glad you like your new browser, XMark!

It kinda bugs me when people try to 'convert' other people to their belief of good and bad.
What does it matter if 70% of the people who go here still use IE?
Are they going to mess up the forum and disrupt the community by stating that they don't use what 'everyone esle should use'?
