Ah man... Don't tempt me, heh. I've got too much on to seriously consider this :) If any of ye want to have a contest, though, I'll organise it...

BTW, are you going to expand your TIGSource entry? I really liked where it was going!

Personally I'd like to participate in another one.
However I'm not saying jack about being in it until I have a finished working engine to pour the contest time into making the content.

Or, unless someone wants to hack together EVERYTHING (the whole engine plus content) in the time of the contest, that way I'd have a fair chance at competing thatd be fine too. :D

I happen to like coding by the seat of my pants so to speak, so frantic 48 hour engine-game-as-fast-as-you-can-pull-one-together kind of things is alot of fun to me.

If I'll get my engine up'n running I would participate. Maybe even finish something...

I never really figured out why my last compoengine tried to load a bmp that wasn't there and wasn't called for anywhere, anytime. I'll blame it on the gnomes.

Well, the compo wouldn't have to start straight away :-) We could allocate some time before it starts for preparing engines. If that gets more people to want to join in, that's all good :D

(And also, my engine is freely available for those of you using C++ :-) )

Terry: Yes, I will expand on Midwinter Rites, but not yet, I need to come up with some more ideas for the story and plan it out a bit, so just letting things mature a bit for now...

And I think anything which boosts participation is a Good Thing :-)

What if we had a competition in the beginning of february? Would that be a reasonable time for doing preparations?

Well, I like to see what kind of stuff comes out of the contests, but as of yet I don't consider myself good enough to finish anything in any specific time frame.

Space Invaders is f***ing killing me.

I've got an idea for a compo...

...make an MMORPG. In one week.

MMO in one week? That sounds like a challenge. I say the min requirements should be support 5 characters walking around on the screen.

Have you completely lost your mind?

Perhaps IF there was an MO engine completed, and just waiting for content, then MAYBE it would be possible, but, cmon, who here can pull off an MMORPG in 5-7 days? I've not seen anyone around here with that skill.

I do believe Nodtveidt made a joke perhaps based upon all the MMORPG projects that has turned up here lately.

Indeed, that could be it.

In any case, I wasn't meaning to offend Nod or anything.
