Sometimes on the third level the main character doesn't appear. Just hit return to reset the level if it happens.

If you get to working on it more, I would suggest checking out adventures of p b winterbottom if you haven't already -- it's covering very similar ground, so perhaps you could get good ideas from it and also think about what you could offer that it might miss ... (And of course the other time manipulation games, but winterbottom seems perhaps most similar)
