Calstlevania 2 rocks! I bought it at the outrageous price of £15, which is how much origional carts are over here. Best cartrage I ever bought (except super mario bros 3)! This game is awesome, definitely the best castlevania on the nes.
But back to the topic - yeah, it did have night and day cycles which made enemys twice as hard in the evening. It also made enemy's enter the town, and the people locked themselves away as there was no protection from the hordes of undead. It gave the game that extra something.

What would you think about setting the current, in-game time by the computer's time? I mean, so that 7:00 p.m. in-game corresponds to 7:00 p.m. out-of-game. It would go a fair way towards bringing the player into the game, I think.
There are problems, of course, particularly if critical game events are somehow tied to time; and they're numerous and obvious enough that I'm not going to bother listing them. However, in a game where time-of-day is more an atmospheric thing, I think it would be an excellent idea.

Don't they do that in Animal Crossing? So if something happened only at 2:00 in the morning on Thursdays, you'd actually have to play at 2:00 on thursday morning to experience it. _________________ That's not a broken link, it's a PICTURE of a broken link. It's really very conceptual.

I don't think that's such a good idea. Then I would only play in the evening, outside weekends. I would rarely see the game with daylight.

Well, obviously you would have most stuff happen at sane times. _________________ That's not a broken link, it's a PICTURE of a broken link. It's really very conceptual.
