Payne 1 suffered from a plotline that drifted from relatively benign to absolutely absurd as the end of the game approached. Not to mention both of the "dream" sequences were pretty close to my definition of punishment. If I have to listen once more to babies wailing while I fall off of bloody platforms I'll chunk my monitor out the window... with gusto.
Payne 2, while feeling a lot shorter, is nearly the same length in actual number of stages (IIRC), but is a helluva lot easier. The plot was pretty straightforward and predictable, but that's fine given the glorious physics engine and graphic spooge. The bullet-time revamp was much needed, but seems to give the player an unfair advantage.
At least in Payne 2 our hero doesn't look like he hasn't taken a dump in weeks :)

The dream sequences were my absolute favourite parts of Max 1. And it wasn't very hard to avoid falling off the blood trail...it just took 3-5 tries, at most.

Wasn't the view always from behind max :P I thought those fine buttocks were the reason to play it.
I dont recall him looking constipated, he did squint whilst shooting and all the promo pics had him shooting so... _________________ https://numbatlogic.com
