FFX-2 is essentially an above-average game that suffers from horrific character design.

- THe gameplay to FF-X2 is good, I never said it wasn't. The battle engine keeps you on your toes because everything happens in a very challenging ATB system.. major props. THAT PART I LIKE. The ATB bars in my game can also dynamically change size to accomodate longer or shorter gauge fills. I took that from FFX-2.

- But yes, in a nutshell, I basically agree with you, Sirocco.

First captain to get lost too :p

So they hotted her up to sell more copies. Tenshi, the fact that you have the game means you condone this, at least on squares balance sheet.

"So they hotted her up to sell more copies"
- Which I don't agree with.

Game companys produce what sells. Thats what makes it right to them when they make these games. Go get a refund and go buy a game you prefer, and hope everyone else grows up and does the same.

It is quite a crisis.

I found it funny too, actually.

I have no idea what size your penis is, although you've gotten me curious. If you want, we can exchange photos/addresses/phone numbers. I find this kind of thing rather erotic.

Sorry.

Tenshi: I agree that women should not be regarded as sexual objects. However, saying that women characters in video games should look or dress a certain way is being as sexist as the supposed people you're arguing about.

Instead of stereotyping, you should probably take a look at the individual characters. Of Final Fantasy X-2's main female cast (I can only name a few as I haven't played it completely through yet) there's Yuna, Rikku, Paine and Leblanc. Let's see...

It's true Yuna has new prettier clothes. But keep in mind, in Final Fantasy X she was training to be the high summoner. So naturally she was conservative about her attire. After bringing about the calm there was no need for her to be a summoner any more. So what if she wanted to live a normal life, and wear normal clothes? [sic]

Rikku is about two years older and lives in the fucking desert.

I don't know if you'd have a problem with Paine, the heels? It's kind of a fashion thing, yeah?

Leblanc is a very vain and stuck up character, and is in love with [whatever his name is]. Her type of person likes the attention they get from flaunting their sexuality, so I find her outfit rather fitting (however ugly it may be).

Their giggling and such are also appropriate, Rikku is the fun bubbly type of person and Yuna is trying not to be so depressed about 'him'. If you notice, Paine doesn't giggle much.

In short, I find nothing sexist about the game, and I have no idea what you're bitching about. Oh wait, you haven't played it yet have you? Quit being such a fucking [prejudice] bigot.

- Sensibility (& logistics) is so Sexist. Because only men are subject to the effects of meteorology.

- I do that quite often, actually. I like to look at background to determine what might make some sort of sense.

- Explain that one Summoner from FF-X with the bikini. The one you run into that has the muscle-head for a guardian. Perhaps it's what each individual person chooses to wear, and that there is no overall standard.

- Define normal.

from WomenGamers concerning the design of my Yasashii character, who wears more clothes than Rikku wrote:

Heh heh, well, I have to say, the first thing I thought when I saw the character was, "she's rather scantily clad". But I guess in a desert environment it kind of makes sense . . . though I don't know, I live in the desert and I usually just wear short-sleeved shirts and long shorts (seems like she might get sunburned in rather, ah, sensitive areas).

- THey assumed when I said 90* weather I meant the desert, but I was sure to point out that Yasashii's outfit would work ONLY in the Tropics. Something about sandstorms and the abbrassiveness of sand kinda makes a string bikini and half of a low-hung skirt kinda useless in the desert... and we all love having sand in our vaginas. :) I mean, afterall, Rikku must be the poster-woman for the desert people, that's why all those people living in the middle-east and near the Sahara wear bikinis, eh? Oh wait.. they cover up. OOPS!

- Sounds a little slutty to me.

- 'Cause one would think that I would absolutely HATE Lulu's design. But you know what, I don't. She doesn't do acrobatics, she doesn't jump run flip Hiyah!! in the air... in fact she uses dolls to attack with.

- Oooooo... I think I hit a nerve. It's Okay, Mommy can kiss it and make it better. Are the burgers ready, yet? The only time there's a difference between PLAYING a Final Fantasy and WATCHING it from like 5 feet away is in FF-8, where you have to time your R-Trigger hits to the Renzukoken.

- Check please.

Well there you go; shows just how much knowledge of the game you have, Tenshi. Anybody who has actually played the fucking game would know that there are skills like Renzukoken in it.

- Your point is what, exactly? "Fucking game" .. wow, you must hate it. Ohhhh, you mean getting far enough into the game? Sorry, my "fucking prejudiced unintellectual bigotry" (did I get them all?) doesn't allow me to play a game that equates itself to Charles Angels II.

- So much "fucking."

What the fuck are you talking about?

Interesting how you simply pass over the fact that the "muscle-head" is a stereotypical muscular male. You know, strong but stupid? But I think you're on to something with that individual thing.

Tenshi wrote:

Well, it's not much different from what some young women wear today, except for that cloth thing hanging over her leg. But I meant it'd be pretty normal clothes for someone living in Spira. (That's not of the Yevon persuasion.)

Hah. You're argument is so flawed. Middle-eastern women cover up because of their culture and religion, not because of the very real and very dangerous sand in the vagina. Most people living in that area are muslims and it's inapporiate for women to show any kind of skin. If you look at Rikku's culture and people, most everyone are "scantily clad", including the males. Well, there's those who wear full body suits too. (Both women and men.)

Tenshi wrote:

Leblanc is a slut. Or did I miss something?

So in your book a female character can have large breasts with gratuitous cleavage as long as she doesn't do acrobatics, jump run flip Hiyah!! in the air?

Tenshi wrote:

Heh. Not really, at least, not the nerve you think. You can still kiss it though. I use the word "fucking" in just about any mood I'm in. So, I'm sorry if that sentence read like I was pissed off or something.

Tenshi wrote:

There's a few others I can think of, but for the most part; yeah, pretty much.

Keep in mind, I don't think any of this post or my thoughts on the matter would be agreed upon from anyone at the definitive WomenGamers forum, so it may or may not be very accruate. Please do not point out if there's a post or thread on the definitive WomenGamers forum concerning the accuracy of this post, as I might start crying.

Speaking of the definitive WomenGamers forum, I don't have an account over there, nor do I want one for fear of being castrated in a cruel and unusual manner (I like my balls, actually.). However, it seems, from your comments that they are the correct voice in the matter. (They are women afterall!!!) So I'll just post my questions here at RPGDX, you can go over there ask them, and then come back over here and post the answer! I do plan on having women in my game and I would want to know if any of the designs would offend, you know, women. So if you can do that for me that would be super. We can even exchange photos/addresses/phone numbers, I might have a female questions in the middle of nowhere with no access to a computer and such. I find this kind of thing erotic.

Um. To be "sensible and logical" is sexist because only men are affected by weather. We're all harping on him for his feminist views, yeah? Well, he thinks he is being sensible and logical. (Ergo, us calling him sexist is calling "sensibility and logistics" sexist.) He's trying to show a contradiction.
