The winner of that argument was obviously Mandrake. Rooter's style of polishing an engine is absurd. I'll be damned if someone is going to lift the plotline, dialogue and even the graphics right out of a game just to PORT it over to a completely different platform. If I was going to do a port, I'd redraw all the chrono trigger characters and then place my hideous creations in a plotline straight out of a Dicken's novel. Wait, wait, that isn't a port at all though. But the fact remains that porting a game for the coding challenge alone is unacceptable, and its practically stealing too! Rooter was so in need of that thrashing, and it was benevolently bestowed by Mandrake.

After Mandrake declared that he would "end [his] rant", Rooter foolishly replied, forcing Mandrake to be hypocritical, and enter the argument once again, boasting obvious claims of superiority. A man with many years of experience under his belt, and over 500 posts cannot be wrong folks! Believe me when I say the only way to enjoy coding and the pleasure of figuring out how a game is done is the Mandrake way! If you decide you would rather focus on programming, and then gather a team to support you by displaying your technical abilities and dedication in a port of something like Chrono Trigger you better watch out, cause if a programmer can't also do art he's a worthless piece of crap. Rooter, you are crap. Why did you post your project here, Rooter? Regardless of the fact you explained it probably ten times already, I just had to ask that question again!

What it comes down to is that you need to improve your art skills, Rooter. Anyone can improve themselves in this way, though Mandrake is struggling with things like spelling, that doesn't matter or anything cause he's right and you are wrong! Plus you also can't blatantly rip off a game by porting it and then openly saying that you are just doing a port. You are such a lazy thief Rooter! You didn't even swap the character palettes or change the name of the game, you just tacked "for GBA" at the end and that was that. The next time you feel like porting something, think of an original game, make it for the PC and then port it to GBA! How about that!? Hahaha! You can't win Rooter.

Yes, sure Rooter, you didn't psot that (an IP check came up positive, the EXACT same IP as his other posts....i love bieng a mod), and I agree- we should think about banning guest-posting or anomouse posting. if it was still my site, etc, I would, but it's Bjorn's now, and it's up to him. Which is for the better since he is not in the middle of this arguement, and I know my emotions would get in the way of clearer thinking.

and rooter- thank you for attacking my spelling. I always notice that the people I piss off who are out of locical arguements always seem to attack my spelling first and foremost. But here is the fact, plan and simple- this is a forum. I post here regularly (mainly because I feel some crazy ass sort of connection to the community- wild enough idea sa it is), and If I spell checked every single post I would never get anything done. Sure that may sound good when I'm flaming you, but whatever.

I've been part of the 'ole RPG gaming/coding community since back when Chrono Trigger first came out the snes. The last part of the IP was undoubtably different as we use the same cable provider and live a mile apart. Way to make an ass out of yourself, Man Drake. Please allocate some of your precious time in confirming this. That aside, I agree Guest Posting is a bad thing, for you have completely and utterly confused two people with similar IPs, for which i apologize.

I would just like to note that my original message was pure sarcasm, with information I divulged only by looking at "the argument". My intent was not to attack your credentials as you seem to think. Your credentials do not concern me. It is your arrogant attitude that is bothersome, not to mention your tendency to contradict yourself. You wrote "I don't claim crap", and went directly on to making a claim about your standing in the RPG community, not to mention your seniority.

If my comment about your spelling offended you, and if it happens often, maybe its something to work on ;P, but that was just an aside, a little poke to the ribs. Not everyone with proper spelling uses a spellchecker you know.

I did not intend for the post to be funny, just my own interpretation of the events, you need not wish to revert to youth or become a vegetable.
