Are they going to mess up the forum and disrupt the community by stating that they don't use what 'everyone esle should use'?
No, but using IE isn't leet enough. By having a larger percentage use Firefox (or any other browser except IE, the more obscure the better), RPGDX gains leetness points.

Besides, Mozilla Firefox beats the crap out of IE any day.

Normally I don't make it a habit to proselytize, but as it stands Mozilla whips IE in every possible category -- and it's a simple matter of suggesting something that will make your life easier.

So... uh... go Mozilla. Yep.

It kind of bugs me when people are bigoted enough to think a suggestion about something that could possibly be better, is part of a larger and more agressive campaign for "conversion" of some kind.

It doesn't matter, actually. It's just a statistic. We all know statistics are pretty much pointless.

Is there anything really WRONG with IE?
I don't have any problems with it.
Don't really need anything more, either.

I highly doubt anyone here is trying to "convert" you, Josiah. So calm down.

And, yes, there are some things that are seriously "WRONG" with Internet Explorer. Convoluted and hidden features are one, and unpatched security holes are another, to name a few. A site here, used to maintain a list of security holes (but, supposedly have been silenced). But a few have another, as does this one, here, and this one.

Also, standards compliance is a seemingly difficult thing for Microsoft to do in general. This is probably a moot point, though, since many believe Microsoft has and makes it's own standards.

Standards of excellency in the area of the kludge, I says.

EDIT:

Happy, it really shouldn't come as any surprise that Frog felt the need to preach in this thread. For somebody who doesn't like seeing another person trying to "convert" those around him, he certainly has no problem infecting us with his opinion.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I suppose Happy has blown my cover...

I'm actually an ordained priest of the Church of Mozilla. Tomorrow morning at first light we're going to gather by the bay and dance around a giant inflatable lizard, which bears an uncanny resemblance to something big that loves to snack on Tokyo.

People who still use IE aren't stupid; they just haven't been informed that something better exists ;)

It doesn't matter anything, the "shocking" that I added was merely my own opinion creaping in.

I generally use IE, just show I know what limitations non-1337 people will have when viewing my web designs. You know: 'cause you have to specially talior your pages to the standards incompliant programs, as those are the only things that ignorant people use.

Present company excluded.

Perhaps.

Mmm.... ran into that when I finished redesigning my site last week. Everything looked fine under Gecko, but IE refused to pass on the current background color to the embedded frame, and made everything look wonky.

I'm sorry...
Am I 'infecting' you with my opinion by saying I think there's nothing wrong with IE, and that it's good enough for ME?
I find it interesting how we used to be on good terms, Rooter.
Then you went to my forums, didn't like the project I was working on, so you offered 'constructive criticism' on the project, then when I stated that all you were doing was blatantly putting it down with no suggestions on how to improve it whatsoever, you dissapeared.
And now you're bashing me because of this?

I overreacted.
I was wrong.
I was an asshole.
Is that what you want me to say?
Alright then, you've got it.

You won't be seeing me around these forums anymore.
Now, I just know there's someone who's gonna post saying some smart-ass comment like "oh no! what a huge loss!", so don't bother trying to piss me off with one.
I won't see it.

Anyone know how to manually change file associations in IE? I know how to do it in windows but for some reason IE decides to go and do its own thing. Like when I click on an MP3 file in windows it loads up Winamp but in IE it goes into one of those shitty Quicktime player page things.

Does anyone remember why this thread started? I second Bjorn. I hope Josiah does not truly leave over this.

Yeah, it'd be a real shame if someone didn't notice that he's an asshat. Then again, we have Rooter here now, so he's not so bad.
