Things are coming together. Last night was the first night this week I slept more than 4.5 hours, so it's kinda frantic, but it's coming together. A lot of my higher-priority bugs now aren't new bugs - they are old ones that have been upped in priority because they've proven to be more prevalent and / or serious than originally anticipated.
I just found out that I'm going to be in Thailand in mid-October, so that's pushed my time table up a bit. Even more frantic!
And with the game clocking in at over 30 hours of play for the average player, it takes a while to test everything. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

Craig Stern (Sinister Design - Telepath RPG) interviewed me about Frayed Knights. It's a bit more designer / developer - oriented than the RPGWatch interview:

Thanks! It's hard to believe that it's the same game from the beginning of this ancient thread. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

It's obviously come a long way, and it's obviously been improved in every area.
But, here's the thing: I find it fascinating how much of it is present even in the first few posts in this thread. I think that shows, that you had a very strong vision from the very start. I believe that is one of the key ingredients for success. It doesn't mean one has all the answers, of course, but a strong vision certainly helps keep things on track. _________________ www.mattiasgustavsson.com - My blog

Thanks, Mattias. It's been hard for me to see the forest for the trees a lot of the time during development. The game in its current incarnation is better than what I had originally planned (if you can believe that!), but in the interviews I said the core vision hadn't changed. Details - yeah, lots of 'em. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

There have been more previews, more interviews.
Lots of emails sent out. Some emails returned.
Sometimes those in the media are thrilled by an underdog story, remembering the games they loved in earlier years. Others are... well, I won't read "dismissive" into their silence, but of course that's how it feels.
Anyway... so much is only starting now, but I guess I can say it is the end of the beginning.
Frayed Knights: The Skull of S'makh-Daon launches tomorrow.
Wish me luck. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

It's been a flurry of activity in the last 24 hours, that's for sure!
I've hardly slept at all this week (pulled an all-nighter Saturday night, and am generally living on less than 5 hours a night), but it's nice to be on this side of the release.
Sales have been better than expected on this first day. I hope this continues as word goes out. In that respect, I can use any help I can get to get the word out!

There's one guy who did a great play-through of the game on YouTube. Here it is:

I made Frayed Knights: TSoSD available for affiliates today (*cough*Mattias*cough*). It's still not available for Plimus, and Plimus is being wonky, but it's available through BMT Micro. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz
