Haha, no, it's fine. The VGNG contest isn't over till the 25th and I think at that point I need to get back to work on my main project :( _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

raise my hand halfway... I'm not going to finish on time, but I'll still release what I have at the deadline... most likely just a very basic walkaround thing on a lame map, the way things are looking now :P _________________ www.mattiasgustavsson.com - My blog

I've got a working but fairly crappy tech demo. It's probably too late to turn it into a real game, but I'll try to release what I have by the end of the deadline.

I'm closing in on something resembling a game. :D
In all seriousness I'd say I'm about 87% - 90% finished.
I don't promise anything grand, but at least I can rest happy knowing that I gave it my all.
I can't wait to see what everyone has made. :) _________________ Principal Software Architect

You know, the last 10% of the work take 90% of the time ;)

Dammit - then I've got about 170% left to go :) _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

...I really hate my luck.
I woke up...and lo and behold I'm sick.
worse yet; now for some reason I'm getting an invalid pointer dereference error at runtime.
I'm not going to have time before the contest ends to implement all the items that I had planned to.
While they will be in the game, they simply will not serve any purpose at this time.
I'm going to try to implement the equipment items, but right now that is not going too well (the invalid pointer error from above lies here)
Items that do nothing that you should NOT buy at shops:
* Escape Roots
* any Scrolls(were going to be used in battle, but that did not get a chance to be implemented)
* Anti-Venom (status affects did not make it into this demo)
Items that you should buy:
* Healing Powder
and IF I manage to get equipment working in time, then buy any weapons and armor.
I planned to have magic and items available in battle, but thats just not possible to add that to the system in 24 hours. Being sick its going to be harder to implement anything else at this point.
No magic in battle means, don't bother buyingthe pricy magic spells either.
So what does that leave you to do? Walk around..fight enemies on the world map, sleep at inns, and complete the only quest that hopefully is not too difficult to figure out.
I'm going to submit my demo sometime tonight. I feel like shit, and I'm going to go rest now. :P _________________ Principal Software Architect
