www.spacerpg.com is looking to add three new staff members to our design team and roleplayers to our moderating team.
Firstly, we are looking for one more programmer who knows php and phpBB to complete our programming team.
We have two competent php programmers, besides myself designing the project now and one more would round the project off nicely. We are setting up subversion to allow several people to work on the project at once and have a very detailed design document you can review, add suggestions to or help reshape at this early stage.
We also need a good science fiction writer, who wants to contribute in creating something a little different in the RPG field. Your work will have a good showcase in a site that will continue expanding. There is a lot of written material already around the theme, that you can look to for a base and plenty of room for you own, creative idea’s.
The project needs an artist who wants to showcase their science fiction art, we are working to a realistic theme. So any artist that works with a tone of realism to their work would be a plus.
Alternatively we are also seeking seasoned roleplayers who know forum based games and what makes them successful, to take up key moderating positions as the game begins.
Ideally anyone who joined the project would be an avid science fiction or roleplaying fan.
Rogue Paragon Gate is currently designed as a small space and science fiction, forum based role-playing game.
The aim is to develop it as an interactive database driven game, being fully dynamic, letting the players develop things like technology, planets, ships, so that they can carve out their own unique niche’s. What I hope will be unique about the development, over other’s already existing is the realistic touch to its concepts, its interactivity and the ability for people to create things for use in the game. I am hoping the realistic scientific side will appeal to a certain type of gamer, often overlooked in roleplaying games.
A few basic examples of what, in the short term we are looking to achieve, are:
Character sheets that are editable, money can for instance can be transferred and used to buy things.
A technology table that can be submitted to and edited by moderators, which then is used to create player owned assets from.
A colony database listing the specifics of each colony, which is dynamically altered over time.
A dynamic personal ship asset system, that gives the players a personal feel to it.
If you have any idea’s or would like to join the project in any capacity, please stop by http://www.spacerpg.com and post in the forums, no registration is currently required to post.
The setting - 'The human race is developing in many different ways, distinct cultures are vying for their own recognition. Mars is fighting for independence and Earth is ridding itself of all lingering corporate influence, scarred by the Mega corporation wars. Humanity is starting to look outward, both mindful and hopeful of what lies ahead.'
We’d be happy to hear from you,
Mark
