I remember a while ago there used to be a "distortion" board on RPGDX that was related to RPG music and such. It was pretty successful, and we even did some music contests and such.
What I don't remember is why was it eventually shut down? Lack of interest? I kind of miss it. _________________ Mark Hall

Hmm, I can't remember this board. It probably disappeared when we moved from indie-rpg.net to rpgdx.net or something...
Who was doing this forum then? I think I tried to contact everybody that used to be hosted on indie-rpg.net about the move. I know some things got left behind though.
Would there be interest in a specific forum about music here?

I think a forum like that would be cool.
Then I would have a reason to show off my new music... =p

I will not contribute anything to the forum myself but I vote to bring it back. _________________

Darkdread was the one in charge of the forum, but since he isn't around that often anymore, I'll volunteer for the new one.
EDIT: come to think of it, Distortion might have been a GDR thing. Not sure. _________________ Mark Hall

If we're going to add a music focussed forum, should there be an art focussed forum as well? Might be nice to have a place to specifically discuss and show off artistry (as long as you can take criticism).
Of course there's the Pixelation board already, but there's bound to be existing music forums too.

It was here and GDR. There was one on GDR that DD ran, and we had one here for a little bit as well (not usre if DD ran that one). I don't remember why it died- I think we lost it when we moved from indierpg.net to indie-rpg.net or something like that. I say let's bring it back as well. _________________ "Well, last time I flicked on a lighter, I'm pretty sure I didn't create a black hole."-

There are hardly any game-related music forums either. The only one I can think of is the one at gamedev.net, and that one's kind of hidden in gamedev's big gigantic set of 50 or so different forums. And I have yet to find a specifically RPG-related music forum. _________________ Mark Hall

I have an idea.
I vote for a special board, where you can post links to your resource (art/music) and have people rate the resource. ~ this will stop flame wars about criticism on peoples work, somewhat, and it will give everyone a place to show off their latest and greatest...even perhaps a resource sharing system, where you gain "credits" for each resource uploaded, and you have to "pay" the "credits" for downloading resources....
just a suggestion. _________________ Principal Software Architect

I don't think that would work.
I, for one, would want crits on my work instead of a number... That wouldn't help me much.
