Every November the site above has a national novel writing month. Akin to our 48 hour compo's, a bunch of madmen meet online once a year and try and finish a novel (unedited) in one month. It's insane. I almost came close to finishing (80 words from the finish line) 2 years ago and haven't come close since then.

Holy shit!
Why didn't I know about this?
I set a challenge for myself to finish a novel in one month.
And I did.
Damnit, I'm always too early or too late... =P

You can still do it this year. Or the next year. Tons of fun. Of course the idea is to create a rough work to base a more complete work from (a rough draft, so to speak), and also just to get something accomplished. Not sure if I'm going to do it this year or not.

I tried that last year and two years ago. Both times I only got three pages done before giving up. Now I got too much schoolwork. Nice idea though :)
