then I agree with most people here that professional games shouldn't be remade by independents. However, this has my full support. :)

Don't you agree?

You need to install this package before you can run it.

Haven't checked it out yet. Will in a moment.

[edit] Actually, I can't seem to find a working RPG Maker runtime... let me know if anybody else can, I just downloaded all 100 and something megs of this thing and can't play it :(

I can't run it myself. No way to get it from the library to home, not at 25 megs. :) Maybe if I can get employed again. :P

I just wanted to say that this fan initiative to spread the nostalgic feeling for older classics is a good thing, and I hope it continues. :) I remember a long time ago, there was this Java app that simulated the Final Fantasy VI engine. It was called "Illucia" after the RPG battle CGI of the same name. Does anyone here remember those? I remember there was an "event" in the original called "Ultros Cave", and it had this puzzle that was really tricky... with buttons, no less. Kind of like those "hit the buttons in a precise order to get them all down and solve the puzzle, like in Super Mario RPG. ...I never finished the Ultros Cave though, because I got tired of leveling. :P I did regret seeing Illucia depart, though. Does anyone know what became of it?

Phuck that noize. Anything requiring I install the DivX codec is bad IMHO. I have Videolan installed for a reason, and that is not to infest my computer with spyware. Sad too, FF4 was my favorite in the series.

well I think remakes of any game is fine, provided as long they are being true to the original. A remake should pay tribute to the old game through updated graphics or reimplementation on new systems.

However if it doesn't remain true to the original (for example they have a new story or something) then it isn't true remake and is just a rip off.

That has to be the worst site design I have seen. Well, in about a week, at the very least. I also find it amusing that none of the screenshots actually match their thumbnails.

Thing is, any game that requires me to install anything else than just the game is ignored. It's sad but true.
