Don't you all remember him saying shit like, "oh that was never meant to be really used for anything" and all that after we tore him to shit for being a douche about DHTML? What is this SceneLion shit?

Whatever. It's not like I'm shocked he's a liar or anything.

It looks like a continuation of his Javascript map engine thingy, a way to make cutscenes with it. My guess is that he just laid a way to move sprites around to a script on top of the map engine. Seems like a natural extension to his other stuff, and not all that wacky (once you accept the premise of his map engine, anyway).

I didn't actually look at the code underneath, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did it work on the first try, but he *actually posted an explanation and an example of how to use it*, both of which I believe is a first for him. The explanation on that LiveJournal page was actually pretty clear - he explained how it worked, how to enter the data, and showed the syntax. It's still not intuitive by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a marked improvement on his earlier offerings.

No, the site and the forum are different entities. It's just that the site uses phpBB's templating system. There's nothing there to block people banned from the forum.

Then I think it's about time that we unbanned LG from the forum!

Of course I have a say, I'm a valued member of this community. :)

"They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron and said to them, 'You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the LORD is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the LORD's assembly?'" (Numbers 16:3)

Wait, we have to go to a LiveJournal page for instructions?

If you go to the web site, no, it's not obvious, but, to be fair, that's what he linked to on his project page for instructions.

Like I said, it's still really far from intuitive. When I say it's an improvement, keep in mind the baseline we're measuring from here...

I don't think there is a problem with that, using your time on the project and using a live journal instead of wasting that time building something to post about the project.

There does exist a problem if one has to go to some other arcane page/site for instructions on how to use a web technology that is not even linked to off of the technology. Sure, Galbalan provides examples and some documentation in the source, but do general users actually read that stuff?
