Hey guys, I'm recruiting team members for a project I've been working on for a few years now. Send me an email if you're interested in joining.
Project name:
BattleStone
Brief description:
The game is a single-player, turn-based RPG set in a fantasy world. (Think Breath of Fire, Suikoden I or II, early Final Fantasys)
The story is revolves around a war between humans and elves, and an ancient ruin known as the BattleStone. The stone was found during the first 100 years of the war, when the current emperor was on his campaign in the heart of the Elven Empire. Since then a cease-fire has been called, and the people enjoy a temporary piece. The stone is now in hands of the emperors’ top mages, who research franticly trying to unlock the secrets behind its’ crystal walls. Ark, a young soldier in the imperial army, is about to be assigned a new mission, a mission that will change his life forever.
Target aim:
Freeware or shareware. Although I might try and get the game to retail if things go exceptionally well.
Compensation:
None. (Unless…) If the game does happen to go retail the revenue will be split between the team members. (Depending on how many hours the members put into the game)
Talent needed:
check http://www.battlestone.net/helpwanted.html
Additional information:
I’ve been working on the idea for a few years now. I have written 130 pages script for the game (which is about 90% complete). I have character concepts already drawn out. The game is basically ready for production.

Your site says that you're looking for programmers, and I might be interested.
What programming language is being used? (Or has it been chosen yet?) When it comes to game programming, I'm only willing to use Java at this time. I've tried out other languages (mostly C++), but I find that I'm able to program games much more effectively in Java.
Also, your site specifies that the buildings and landscape will be 3D. At present, I have no practical knowledge of 3D graphics. I'm willing to learn, but promising lo learn 3D graphics is a little like offering to pay you a next week for a burger today.
Right now, I'm working on a relatively crappy demo of a 2D RPG just to get an engine made. There's a horde of problems (for instance, my whole "overlapping sprites" idea seems to kind of suck), but I think they can be fixed.
I'll post an update tonight or tomorrow and send you download instructions (since you'll need the Java JRE) so that you can see what I've been doing.

You've definitely put a lot of work into this and you know what you want to produce. I'm looking forward to your finished work.
Put up a forum so we can see your work in progess, and chime in with our own random bits every now and again. ;) We want to watch your vision come to life before our eyes.
I may be able to offer some character consulting. (free of charge, of course)
EDIT: oh so you DO have a forum. Well this was an unexpected surprise. We're so accustomed to seeing RPGMaker material game ideas around here that really haven't been well thought out that I think some of us are caught a bit off-guard. You see, you've put more into the promotion of your game than we do with ours! (most of us, at least) Looks to me that you've got capable management skills and a good groundswell of support. You've drawn like-minded people to you, and that's the most crucial element of any team project, especially a volunteer one.
Looking forward to your finished work.
