Hey guys. I've been making RPGs using the RPGToolkit for the few years, and I've basically decided to see if anyone outside of the RPGToolkit cares to see what I'm creating. I've just finished a demo for my latest project, The Dragoon, and I'd like to see what you guys think. It's still a little buggy, but there really shouldn't be anything that affects the gameplay, just minor visual mishaps. I created a profile with a link to the demo download, and I added a few screenshots. The graphics are original, along with the music. The systems were coded using RPGToolkit's programming language, RPGCode. I doesn't look like you guys especially care for Maker games, but it's worth a shot I guess. Any feedback would be great.

Here's the profile.

The main reason I personally don't care for 'maker games is that they typically aren't cross-platform, not because I have a particular disdain for them. RPG's can shine from story elements, so the software you use to make them is less of an issue than with, say, first person shooters. But unless there's a Mac OS X version of your 'maker game, I won't be playing it.

I will say that your game looks pretty fun from the screenshots, though. You've got an art style that really seems to capture the feel of the old handheld RPG's. Looks like solid console-style RPG goodness to me.

Good luck with it.

Ah same problem here, I'd need a Linux version. Screenshots look very cool though.

I played it for 5 minutes. There is no full screen mode? The graphics are very well done, or does that come with the toolkit? Excellent music! However, the battle mode is far too slow...

Oh, I see... I didn't even think about cross-platform. Bummer.

Yeah, the battle system is slow, but I've revised a lot of the code since the demo release, and it's running considerably faster now. The graphics are original, and actually, I've improved a lot of them since the demo release also.

I'll post again when the full version is out, which will hopefully be in a month or two.
