I'm trying to find a good book (or at least web tutorials) on using DirectX with VB6. I found a few on Amazon but they all had terrible reviews. Any suggestions? Thanks

Begin with switching language with a future :)
VB6 is getting phased out and replaced by VB.Net. _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

I don't think that was the answer he was looking for. :) Also, don't forget that there was a huge outcry from professionals who continue to use VB6 and wish it to be further supported (in response to Microsoft announcing the end of the Visual Studio 6 life cycle).
B_Level, I can't suggest any books because I don't know of any, but I can suggest you look on sites like planet source code for proper tutorials on how to do it... _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. I was going to quote something that Nodtveidt said, but found that I could not say what I wanted to say without coming off as an ass; to avoid any more needless, pointless holy wars, I shall abstain. Suffice to say, I agree with DrunkenCoder, although I would suggest going a step further: should you really want to stick to languages championed by Microsoft, switch it over to C#.
That said, legitimate copies of Visual Studio (either 2003 or 2005, the latter would be my suggestion) are rather high priced. You could always go mono, if you don't want to spend much money.
Now, to stop the proselytizing, and get to your specific question: you could always try Google Groups. _________________ "...LeoDraco is a pompus git..." -- Mandrake

Leo, it's all good...it's okay to suggest going to another language or compiler, but it can also be frustrating for a person to hear "why are you using THAT, you should be using THIS" which doesn't answer the question they asked. :) Keep that in mind... _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. Well in this case making the switch would allow him to simply pick up any book on managed DirectX or get current samples and actually find books and documentation on the current releases of DirectX instead of being stuck with legacy API's and books from the bargin bin ;)
And the Express versions are still free.
VB Express
And here's the DirectX Developer corner With tons of information. And the SDK has a ton of samples to get you started. _________________ If there's life after death there is no death, if there's no death we never live. | ENTP

VB6 isn't exactly the best compiler to be using DirectX in, that's for sure...take that from someone who knows first-hand. :D _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. The scary part is that if you play it forwards it installs Windows. - wallace
