Recently came to the realization that it's been about 10 months since I last composed something... any ideas how to get out of a slump like this?

Maybe I should do another song-a-day project...

I usually do covers to get out of a slump. Getting to know the inner workings (err, notes, scales, whatever) of a song and getting ideas from it really helps, for me at least.

Oh man, that's a shame.

Well, I know something that worked for me - I has serious "designer's" block for about eight months or so last year. To try and get out of it, I decided to totally change my routine. For about three months, every evening after work I started taking my laptop to the college library with the intent that I'd do some work on my game - at first I just played Civilisation 2 until closing time, but after a few weeks it started to work.

Your song a day project is probably a good idea.
