So the time had finally come...I got my real machine working at long last, and burned a copy of the MSR prototype. My daughter decided to get in on the fun too.

My machine is a US version TG16 with the normal CDROM accessory. The TG16 unit is region-modded to accept Japanese HuCards and as such, the CDROM system runs on an Arcade Card Pro. Not a particularly cheap setup these days...

The game is still very much a prototype after all this time. Free time is still hard to come by, although this weekend I've gotten a lot of underlying code finished. All of the cutscenes have been drawn, it's just a matter of coding them in, which is not a trivial process.

Yeah it's been awhile since an update because of lack of time plus all the work we're doing on it when we DO have time.

I certainly hope you have my name in the credits, as the tiles in that shot were drawn by me. :)

Looks good! It's always exciting to see something you're working on being played on an actual TV-- We were playing Lynn's Legacy on a TV with a gamepad at its release 'party', that was quite cool to say the least. :p

Can't wait to play this, anyway. It's been a long time since I've had a go at the original; it should be refreshing to play through it in a new light.

One of these days I'll get back to that Japanese translation.. I got about 1/5 done when I first started. I just kinda forgot about it for a while.

Beta testing of MSR has been going very smoothly, so I figured it was high time for some new hardware screenshots. Note that these were taken while the machine was using the RF out rather than the composite video out, so the colors aren't as bright as they could be. And again, Rhianna decided to get in on the fun. :)

Nice, I'm really looking forward to replaying this :)

Hope there's a good TG16 emulator out there!

I haven't played the original. How closely does the remake match the original? Are the maps, characters, enemies, and other items the same or have they been "reimagined"? Just curious.

I really like the screenshot of the town, it kind of reminds me of Dragon Warrior on the NES.
