okay, so I joined the local church choir as an additional guitar player because thats something I'm good at, and I needed something do besides sit in my computer chair everyday.
I'm Catholic, I gotta go to Mass, I go to the church, so why not play guitar there?

Little did I know that the person I am playing with is quite accomplished. BEN WALTHER. Never heard of him? Me either, but let me tell you, I certainly feel good knowing that he finds my guitar skills to be professional enough for him to let me play with him!

Its Christian Rock, and very nicely done. :D
If you're a christian or not, Check this guy out!

That's cool. I'm protestant (Wesleyan to be specific) and I play electric guitar at my church every other week. I also lead our youth band. Playing music with my church has to be one of the most important things that I do, and just playing with other people has done wonders for my own musical skill.

When I get to a broadband connection again, I'll have to listen to Ben Walther's stuff. It's not so often you hear of contemporary Christian artists who are Catholic. At any rate, I'm sure you'll learn a lot from playing with him.

I play guitar in a pagan band, Magia Pagana. I used to play some Christian bands on my radio show in college...no one knew they were Christian because they sounded a lot like some of the Satanic music I also played. Music knows no religion. :)

The style of music (what the intstruments are playing, or the timbre of the singer's voices) knows no religion. The lyrics definitely know a religion. Even if Christian bands don't sing explicit worship, their lyrics are generally not profane and much more positive than a similar secular band.
