I'm sure people have noticed: it's been *very* quiet around here recently. There are posts on the first page of this very forum from 2007.
The thing I always loved about this place was the 48hr contests. How about we have one? To liven things up a bit?
I would suggest, as a theme, a technical limitation. A low resolution or 16 colour palette or something else suitably lofi!

I'm interested, but only if this doesn't turn into another month-long contest. I'm busy with a big project (expected release date: July 2010), and I can't afford to take much more than two days off for another project.

OMG! I have been wanting to hear that there would be another competition here :D
I'm so in.
I'm up for a very low-res (under 320x200) contest!
How about a 200x150 res game scaled up to 800x600 for rendering or something?
..when would this be taking place? All my Sundays are taken; but any other pair of days will work for me. _________________ Principal Software Architect

Cool! So that's three definites and two maybes, right?
Purely for selfish reasons I'm going to suggest any time after the 16th (deadlines :( ) and not the weekend of the 24th (KOTM!)! But there's no reason why it has to be a weekend! I'll start a poll to vote on a preferred date.
Also, I totally agree with Rainer: NO EXTENSIONS! At all. (I think if you're expecting an extension you subconsciously plan out a game that'll take longer than 48hrs to make; that certainly seems to have been the case for previous contests.)
For theme: I like low-rez/lo-fi as a general theme, but let's leave it up to people to interpret exactly what that means for them :) _________________ http://www.distractionware.com

I figured it was a bot, but there's no link anywhere. _________________ If you play a Microsoft CD backwards you can hear demonic voices. The scary part is that if you play it forwards it installs Windows. - wallace
