I just played through it. Only took a few minutes. I only have one major issue with it. It runs slowly for me. The game is a bit of fun aside from the slow running speed. I think you've got potential in the engine. Good luck. _________________ Life is what happens while you're waiting for the stress to subside...

Thank mate!
Ya, I was having some a trouble removing objects and also the weather effects do take a toll (I even lowed them) so that's why the FPS is low.
As for the engine I actually like it too but unfortunately I rushed so it's all spaghetti code with a few comments (Well not terrible but not really something I would want to read through too much) :P I will have to rewrite the whole thing if I want a proper engine which I might do. _________________ Check out my game development on My Programming Blog!

Nice game, I like the weapons and shields. The dragon kicked me butt but I managed to evade him for victory with only 2 HP remaining. Oh, love the sound, music and effects. _________________ As seen on TV

I played "Suals Quest Episode 1: The Cloud King" earlier today at my office with the sound off, so I missed the introduction and tutorial. It was much better when I replayed it tonight with the sound on.
On a technical note, the tutorial mentions using WASD or the arrow keys, but only the arrow keys work once the game begins. Also, I was able to jump over the final dragon by leaping from the last platform.
ManaTroph mentioned the game runs slowly; however, I didn't experience any performance issues or slow-downs on my machine.
I like how you can upgrade your weapon and shield.
Nice job, I think you have the beginnings of a very fun game.

I wasn't able to get this to run on my PC at all, even with AdBlock Plus and NoScript disabled. It ran on my Mac, but with single digit fps.
The biggest problem with this game, aside from the low frame rate, is that there seems to be no element of skill or strategy involved. Just walk up to the monsters, press the down arrow, and hope they drop before you do.

Not bad for a 48 hour effort :-)
I got between 5 and 7 fps, which made it too slow to really be enjoyable... I actually quite liked the style of the backgrounds, would have been nice to have the characters and items in the same style. Getting weapon upgrades was a nice touch. The dragon was difficult, took me three times to beat. _________________ www.mattiasgustavsson.com - My blog

Thanks for the replies guys!
I'm considering re-doing the engine and then making a game with it. _________________ Check out my game development on My Programming Blog!

I played it a little on Sunday night (when I was supposed to be playing my own game) - but I can only echo what's already been said here. But it's impressive what you've been able to do with it. Keep up the good work - I'm excited to see what comes next! _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

I had the opposite problem--I beat the game in under a minute by simply jumping over the heads of every single monster without pausing to fight them. :P

For those that the game didn't work you might want to try it again :)
(For a short period of time there I had the wrong swf uploaded)
Also I'm making a whole new platform engine right now (doing my own detection for various reasons) and I plan to make the code neat so I can reuse the engine a lot... anyways if you guys like the game I will pursue making an episode 2 once I finish this engine. _________________ Check out my game development on My Programming Blog!

Nope..still the same blank blue box where the game should be.
A loading bar and a lock icon are there, the loading bar goes all the way across and I expected a game..but nothing ever appears. _________________ Principal Software Architect
