It's out!
99 cents in the app store right now, if you've got an iPhone or iPod Touch then please check it out-- we've put a lot of effort into this one and I think you guys will really appreciate what we've done.
The object of the game is to defend your picnic blanket from nine vicious types of creepy crawlies by squishing them with your finger in addition to placing traps, honey, watch batteries (ZAP!), and more. The addictive and fast-paced gameplay spans three distinct levels across two separate game modes (normal and endless) and will definitely keep you occupied for awhile (this game is no pushover)...
...But the real gimmick is that Ant Attack is designed to resemble a classic NES game. Obviously some compromises were made to keep the game as visually appealing as possible (purists may call out the sprite rotation as horribly offensive), but it observes the classic limitations wherever possible-- NES palette and sprite color limits, NES-styled chiptune soundtrack and sfx, etc...
Click here for footage of Ant Attack being played! (captured in a mac dev environment, hence the pointer)
And here's a medley of the game's soundtrack on 8bc:
Ant Attack OST
I composed the music + sfx and pixelled all the graphics, as well as doing some additional design work. Everything else was handled by my good friend and nefarious game design cohort Stephen Gazzard.
Head on over to the app store and support our noble endeavors! (And squish some creepy critters while you're at it)

Thanks, we hope so! Edited a link to some footage of the game into the first post, by the way. :)

The soundtrack is good. No iPhone here, though, so I can't try the game. Sounds interesting though :)

Yeah, I'm an iPhone luddite too. It's very cool, but I don't see myself having one anytime soon. _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

I only have my iPod Touch because I was given it by Stephen (the programmer) when I started working on these games so I could test and play them. I'm not sure if I would have bought one myself before that, but I've really come to like it... or maybe just the "giant touch screen" aesthetic and the idea of the app store. I think it has great potential for creative new games... I'd love to do some adventure games for it one day.
