Hey guys, I wanted to give you all a heads-up about a new site I've created to give some much-needed attention to the indie RPG genre, the suitably-named IndieRPGs.com.
Quote: | The mission of IndieRPGs.com is twofold:
1. To provide an easy resource for people looking to learn about indie RPGs that they would never have learned about otherwise, and
2. To provide hard-working indie RPG developers the attention that they deserve. |
I want to make this into a legit indie RPG blog, so I'm inviting everyone here to contribute articles, news, and game reviews. The only rule I have should probably be kind of obvious, but here it is anyway: don't write about your own games. (Conflict of interest and all that.) Other than that, if you want to help the indie RPG scene, I strongly encourage you to send me an email!

Liked the review it was thorough and well written without being boring. ^_^
I like the idea for the site too I'd probably not be the best one to contribute a review, but I'll see if I can think of something. ^_^ _________________ Mao Mao Games

@Jinroh: Thanks!
@RampantCoyote: I sure hope not! It takes a while to play through an RPG, so I'll definitely be needing help with writing reviews.

Due to the nature of my website, I have been very hesitant to do anything approaching real "reviews" of RPGs in my blog. After all, I sell 'em, so there's a potential conflict-of-interest issue if I am providing advice to consumers concerning their purchase decisions. Which is the principle purpose of a review.
No worse than pretty much any gaming magazine or website which accepts advertising from the folks they review, but hey - I'm tryin'.
But I'll be happy to link to your reviews. :) _________________ Tales of the Rampant Coyote - Old-School Game Developer talks Indie Games, RPGs, and the Games Biz

Fair enough. (Though you could always just devote yourself to reviewing the free ones.)

I may be interested in writing some reviews for you-- I'll get back to you when I know if I'll be able to. :) (time and all that)

If you don't mind setting a format for reviews I would do one for Kishi Kawaii. ^_^ That is the most recent Indie RPG type game I have played. _________________ Mao Mao Games

Great! Yes, yes, please send me your reviews. Just type them up with content like the TSE:2 one has, and we can format it later. :)

Good review.
I liked it and though the game sounds good it's not quite my thing. Too open ended ^_^ _________________ Mao Mao Games
